IBM completes deployment of civil infrastructure project in Saudi Arabia

IBM (NYSE:IBM) announced today (8 June) that it has completed the deployment of infrastructure for the delivery of government services for Saudi Arabia.
The company said that the project, called the eGovernment Service Bus, will deliver the core communication and security infrastructure for the Yesser eGovernment Program, Saudi Arabia's long-term modernisation of all government services, designed to provide Saudi residents with rapid access to government services.
The solution includes key elements from the business portfolios of every division within IBM, including software, hardware, services and research, with POWER System and System x servers and DataPower devices hosting IBM SOA middleware products at eight geographically distributed sites in Saudi Arabia. Together, these products support the automation of business processes and the increased collaboration necessary to usher in a new era of efficiency in government services in Saudi Arabia.
No financial details of the project were disclosed.
