Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse Q4 net sales up

Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse has reported net sales from continuing operations of $811.5 million for the fourth quarter ended May 30, 2009, a 3.9% increase, compared to $780.9 million for the same period ended May 31, 2008.
For the fourth quarter of 2009, comparative store sales decreased 3.1%, compared to the same quarter of 2008.
For the 12 months ended May 30, 2009, net sales from continuing operations were $3.54 billion, a 4.4% increase, compared to $3.39 billion for the comparative period ended May 31, 2008. Comparative store sales decreased 2.5% for the 12 monhts ended May 30, 2009.
Tom Kingsbury, CEO of Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse, said: "We are very pleased to continue to report a total sales and market share increase. In addition, the ongoing success of our cost reduction initiative has enabled us to end the year with a more current inventory position as we move into the 2010 fiscal year."
