"I am incredibly honored to be named a recipient of the 2009 InfoWorld CTO Awards," said David Mercier, global director of continuous improvement, GWS Div. Johnson Controls. "By partnering with Actuate to provide ongoing innovation for our operational performance management initiative, my team and I were able to accomplish our goal of using metrics to transform the Global Workspace Solutions division of Johnson Controls. Our solution will help us in the future by aiding in the discovery of additional business rules previously hidden across GWS's operations and applying consistent metrics companywide."
With his implementation of Actuate PerformanceSoft Views, Mercier was able to identify areas for improvement in his department, resulting in significant time, money and resource savings for Johnson Controls. The return on investment of the Actuate driven project totaled $500,000 in North America for FY08 alone. Johnson Controls is now poised to make its service performance index the measurement of service performance going forward, the company noted in a release.
