Mexican sell-off puts Australian concrete operations in Swiss hands

The Australian division of the former Rinker Group, now Cemex Australia, will be sold by the Mexican parent to Swiss firm Holcim for $A2.02bn. The impact of the building sector collapse in the US meant Cemex was keen to rid itself of at least part of the $US18.8m ($A23.2m) debt burden created by its acquisition of Rinker.
