Micro Focus, a provider of enterprise application management and modernization solutions, announced the appointment of Michael Steinharter as President, Global Testing Division.
According to company officials, Steinharter's appointment follows Micro Focus' market extension into Testing and Automated Software Quality (ASQ). Micro Focus' existing ASQ offering is greatly expanded, particularly with the recent acquisition of Compuware's assets in this area.
In this role, Steinharter leads Micro Focus' global testing operations, overseeing business activities including the integration of acquisitions, customer and product development strategies, and heading growth plans for Micro Focus' newest operations.
"Micro Focus has begun the next phase in its growth trajectory, targeting the fragmented and growing testing market. I am delighted to welcome Mike to lead our newly created testing division," said Marc Andrews, Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing for Micro Focus. "Mike's experience and results-driven approach are a perfect fit as we complement our established leadership in applications management with growth in the logically adjacent testing space."
Steinharter most recently served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations at Serena Software, where he oversaw the day-to-day global operations of the business. In prior roles, he held leadership positions at Thomson Reuters and IBM, living and working across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. His management experience spans sales, marketing and product development responsibilities at international technology corporations for two decades.
