'Canal Plus launches remote recording function'

French pay TV broadcaster Canal Plus has launched a remote recording function for Canal Plus and CanalSat TV subscribers using the Le Cube satellite/IP STB. Customers must activate the service on the internet-connected device to programme recordings from the canalsat.fr or canal-plus.fr websites using a PC or Mac. Canal Plus is the first channel in France to offer a remote recording service. The Le Cube STB, launched last November, already allows users to access Canal Plus and CanalSat on demand, and to watch subtitled versions of popular American series one week after they air in the US. Its 320 GB capacity means it can store around 100 hours of programmes.
