Petach Tikva, Israel, Port Washington, NY, Jun 18, 2009 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --
Companies: Siemens AG (SI)
Tadiran Telecom , a leading global IP business telephony and communications supplier, announced today that its advanced communications solutions have been chosen again as part of the Beijing Subway's expansion plan. Beijing is planning to build the world's biggest subway by 2015, spending over 7.6 billion dollars in track transport development this year alone.
Subway Line 15 and Daxing, Beijing's southern city quarter Subway Line, will be equipped with 87 units of Tadiran Telecom's IPx 3000 system and a FlexiCom 5000 system connected across approximately 57km of track. Tadiran's system will provide converged voice, data and video communications, dispatch and system-wide management applications that will enable real-time monitoring of the entire network.
Tadiran Telecom solutions are already providing mission-critical communications to much of Beijing's public transportation including the Beijing Subway Lines 4 and 5, the Airport Express subway line, and the Beijing Airport Command Center. Due to the successful installations, Tadiran Telecom has been chosen again over competition from major players such as Siemens, Alcatel, Feihong, Ericsson and Harris. Line 15 is the sixth line awarded in the Beijing subway to KTT, Tadiran's subsidiary in China.
"Mission Critical, converged communication systems that support voice, data, video and advanced communications have become a necessity in the transportation market. Tadiran has been leading this technological ground" said Zeev Aviv, VP Sales & Marketing of Tadiran Telecom. "The Beijing Subway is an ambitious project with special communication requirements. Tadiran Telecom will make use of the experience, customization capabilities and knowhow that it has accumulated in the transport industry over the past decade. Our flexibility and reliability have yielded success in past projects and have made Tadiran the company of choice for China's transportation projects."
Tadiran's telephony solutions have already been deployed in other transportation projects in China, including Dalian International, Hohhot, Tianjin, Wuhan, Zhenzhou, Hainan Phoenix and Wuxi airports and Internal Metro Express in Beijing airport. In the past 2 years alone Tadiran Telecom's network solutions have been successfully deployed in scores of projects worldwide such as the Minsk subway, Ireland's Transport 21 project and more. Tadiran Telecom also provides IP communication for other vertical markets, including emergency services, healthcare, energy, education and government.
