CCID Consulting: China's New Energy Industry in Step with Global Energy Industry

CCID Consulting, a China-based research, consulting and IT outsourcing service provider, and the first Chinese consulting firm listed in Hong Kong, recently released its article on China's new energy industry.

The firm found that:

In recent years, global and China's new energy industries have considerable development. Because of high application cost, new energy industry emerged in developed countries, such as Germany, Japan and America. With the governmental supports, new energy markets in developed countries continue to enlarge.

With new energy technical progress, its application cost gradually reduces; developing countries face greater pressure on energy-saving and emission reduction, new energy industry are in the rise of developing countries. China is the world's second-largest energy producing and consuming countries; its energy structure is unreasonable, chronically depends on fossil energy, which restricts China's sustainable development pace and couldn't guarantee China's long-term energy security. Foreign market demands and domestic environmental protection pressure jointly drive China's new energy industrial rapid development.

In 2008, China's new wind turbines installed capacity has reached 7.1922 million kW, which accounts for 26.7 percent of global new wind turbines capacity. Accumulative installed capacity has broken through 13 million kW, which has reached 13.2422 million kW. The growth rate of new installed capacity has reached 118.9 percent. Domestic strong demands drive China's wind power equipment manufacturing industry to enter mature period.

China's solar cell production reached 2000MW, which accounts for 40 percent of global solar cell production; polysilicon raw materials' production capacity gradually releases; photovoltaic industry is in growth period.

Total installed solar water heater 132,840,000 m3, which accounts for over 70 percent of global installed solar water heater. The industrial development is mature.

In 2008, China's fuel ethanol output reached 1.9 million t; bio-fuels industry got through a rapid adjustment, which has stepped into steady development period.

Some new energy industrial segments haven't fully activated, but judging from present development trend, China's new energy industry has gone through initial period and stepped into rapid growth period. Some industrial segments' sizes play important role in the global, China has become important impetus of global new energy industrial development.
