SUWANEE, Ga., June 19, 2009 -- ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS) a global telecommunications technology leader, today announced that the Board of Directors of ARRIS, has approved the appointment of James A. Chiddix, 63, to the ARRIS Board of Directors effective July 1, 2009. Mr. Chiddix is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of San Francisco based OpenTV Corporation and serves on the Boards of Directors of Virgin Media, Dycom Industries and Symmetricom, Inc. Prior to his current responsibilities, Chiddix was Chairman and CEO at OpenTV, President at the Time Warner Interactive Video Group and Chief Technology Officer at Time Warner Cable. He brings almost 40 years of cable industry leadership and technology experience to the ARRIS Board.
