SAIC awarded US Army contract

Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE:SAI) announced on Wednesday it has been awarded a task order by the US Army's Director of Information Management (DOIM) at Fort Polk, Louisiana, to provide a IT and network support services.
SAIC, a scientific, engineering and technology applications company, said the task order has a one year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total value of over USD30m if all options are exercised.
The task order was awarded under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services contract.
Fort Polk's DOIM provides the installation with phone and data infrastructure support, including network management and security, helpdesk services, web services and training.
Under the terms of the contract, SAIC will support the DOIM by delivering IT support including information assurance, automation and network support, as well as and telephone, wireless and data communications services.
