Compass Group and First Data Partner to Launch Consumer Loyalty Program

Compass Group, a foodservice management company, and First Data, a provider of electronic commerce and payments processing, reported they are introducing a tiered consumer loyalty program at participating corporate cafes and dining centers.

Compass Group's Zipthru Rewards program, based on First Data's loyalty technology, is an automated, points-based loyalty program that recognizes customers by their level of loyalty. The most loyal customers receive additional rewards, including access to discounts on goods and services from both local and national merchants, the groups noted.

"Our enhanced Zipthru Rewards program is one more way we can provide the best possible dining experience for our customers," said Lisa McEuen, senior vice president, Strategic Marketing and Business Excellence, at Compass Group North America. "In today's business environment, you have to offer your customers more than 'just lunch.' Our tiered loyalty program is the extra step we're taking to show our most dedicated customers that we value them and appreciate their business."

"First Data's loyalty solution allows businesses to tailor a specific loyalty program to fit their customers' needs. Businesses can create programs that give patrons a number of points up-front, trigger real-time messaging at the point of sale or offer Web-based campaign tools to manage their rewards," said Stuart Kiefer, division manager for loyalty solutions at First Data. "In our partnership with Compass, it was important to make diners feel important from the moment they walked into one of the company's cafes. They also wanted to recognize patrons who were at the highest level of loyalty."

Compass Group said it plans to extend the tiered Zipthru Rewards program to additional dining centers later this year.
