Tenpay Partners with China Eastern Airlines

Tenpay, an online payment tool under the aegis of Tencent Holdings Ltd. (SEHK: 0700), reached an overall cooperation agreement with China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited (NYSE: CEA, SEHK: 0670 and SHSE: 600115), covering the airline company's B2C and B2B platforms, disclosed a person in the know.

Under the agreement, Tenpay will offer China Eastern Airlines with credit card "no card" payment and "large amount" payment services. Credit card users in China can directly book air tickets via the third-party payment platform.

Now, China Eastern Airlines has launched Tenpay e-payment services. Its air ticket direct-selling and distributing platforms both support Tenpay e-payment services.

One of China Eastern Airlines' major tasks in 2009 is to strengthen its information system and e-commerce platform establishment, noted an executive for the airline company. Thus, many online payment firms cast their eyes on China Eastern Airlines. Recently, Alipay is reported to team up with the airline company.
