Alaska Airlines launches new service between Portland and Maui

Alaska Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, has launched a new service between Portland, Oregon and Maui.
The airline will operate the new Portland-Maui service thrice a week on every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin.
The airline has said that the new thrice-weekly service will expand to daily service starting August 7, 2009.
Steve Jarvis, vice president of marketing, sales and customer experience at Alaska Airlines, said: "Customers now will be able to enjoy Alaska's unique brand of service and earn Mileage Plan miles whether they are booking a flight or a complete vacation package to the beautiful islands of Hawaii."
