German business communications provider Ecotel reports revenues of EUR 24.3 million for the second quarter of this year, slightly down compared with EUR 24 million in the first quarter. On a year to year comparison revenues for the first six months of this year 8 percent lower, due to the tight economic situation as well as the competitive situation in the business segment and the suspended processing of the uninterrupted takeover of access lines by Deutsche Telekom. Ecotel's second quarter EBITDA grew by EUR 100,000 quarter-on-quarter to EUR 1.3 million, however, stayed EUR 400,000 below previous year figures and the EBIT dropped by EUR 600,000 year-on-year to EUR 100,000. Ecotel's net profit amounted to EUR 100,000 for the second quarter, which amounts to earnings per share of EUR 0.03. The provider achieved a preliminary regulatory success in July of this year, when a claim of Deutsche Telekom against the German telecommunications regulator BNA decision of an abusive misconduct by DeTe regarding the takeover of DeTe access products by resellers was dismissed. In this context ecotel awaits the final regulatory decision regarding the discounted resale of PSTN and ISDN access lines, which is due for September of this year. Ecotel also plans to sell a product bundle based on the infrastructure of alternative carriers in the forthcoming weeks. Due to the ongoing delay of the regulatory decision regarding the resale of PSTN and ISDN lines ecotel expects to generate revenues of around. EUR 100 million and to generate an EBITDA adjusted for extraordinary cost and revenues of EUR 5 AcaeaEURoe 5.5 million for 2009.
