KIA MOTORS CORP. (KSE:000270), South Korea's second-largest carmaker, said Tuesday it will unveil the Venga subcompact car next month as it battles to boost sales in the European market. The new four-door, four-seat model, which will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show starting September 15, features either a 1.4-liter or a 1.6-liter engine as well as fuel-efficient technologies, Kia said in a statement.
* One of those technologies is a so-called idle stop-and-go system, which prevents unnecessary fuel consumption by stopping operation of an engine when a car is not moving, according to the statement.
"The Venga is targeted at urban drivers," said a Kia official, adding that it will only be available for purchase in Europe.
