ECI Telecom announced that Russian operator "Synterra" CJSC is deploying the XDM-3000, a new high-capacity MSPP (Multi-Service Provisioning Platform).
According to company officials, ECI's XDM-3000 has been introduced to address customer demand for capacity-intensive carrier-class infrastructure solutions that can simultaneously handle both Ethernet and TDM-based services, a fundamental element of the ECI 1Net framework for optimal network transition.
"Synterra" noted the XDm-3000 will upgrade its core backbone infrastructure nodes in several cities across Russia.
"'Synterra''s volume of network traffic is increasingly growing," stated Ekaterina Andreeva, a "Synterra" spokesperson. "The network is loaded both with traffic generated by our corporate customers as well as from our activities as carrier of carriers. To provide all of our business customers with the highest quality telecom services expected, we are constantly upgrading our network infrastructure and its capabilities."
"Our goal is to enable our customers to rapidly and cost-efficiently introduce new carrier-class differentiated services over their existing infrastructure, while supporting a smooth migration path to next-generation networks. The XDM-3000 addresses this goal, by eliminating capacity bottlenecks and by simultaneously supporting full fine granularity switching, for TDM, Carrier Class Ethernet and MPLS," said Boris Mirkin, President, FSU Regional Business Unit, ECI Telecom. As part of the 1Net framework, the XDM-3000 is also supported by LightSoft and is fully integrated with ECI's additional platforms.
ECI Telecom delivers communications platforms to carriers and service providers worldwide.
