Tempsys Offers WiFi Gateway for Hospital Checkpoint Wireless Temperature Monitoring Systems

Tempsys, Inc. announced that its computerized Checkpoint Wireless Temperature Monitoring System for hospitals can now use hospitals' existing WiFi wireless networks.
According to a release, hospitals will be able to use either their wireless WiFi, a separate wireless repeater/Etherbase network to connect through the hospital hard-wired LAN, or a hybrid system utilizing both the wireless WiFi and hard-wired LAN to conveniently install the wireless temperature monitoring system.
Tempsys said its The Checkpoint Wireless Temperature Monitoring System continuously monitors temperature-sensitive equipment throughout the hospital, from the pharmacy to the blood bank, nurses' stations to research laboratories.
"With this upgrade, we are able to lower the cost and installation of a wireless temperature monitoring system," said Bob Yuan, president of Tempsys. "Its purchase can be readily justified by its return on the investment through loss prevention, quality assurance, regulatory compliance and labor savings."
The Checkpoint Wireless Temperature Monitoring System monitors the temperature of refrigerators and freezers for the blood bank, laboratory, pharmacy, dietary and all other departments as a hospital-wide solution. Checkpoint provides 24/7 monitoring, automatically emails alert notifications and provides full documentation of all corrective action for automated regulatory compliance.
Its latest, the company said that G3 version, offers the following features:
- Two way-communication and onboard memory at each sensor so that data is never lost even during a server or network failure.
- Reporting capabilities to meet the variety of requirements of the Joint Commission, Department of Health, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and College of American Pathologists (CAP).
- shock- and water-resistant sensors that can monitor temperatures down to -200 degrees Celsius, as well as other measurement values such as humidity, differential air pressure, carbon dioxide, door status, movement, voltage, power outage and other parameters.
- Email and text message alerts that can be sent to any number of personnel to protect against a refrigerator or other equipment failure.
