Document Capture Technologies, Inc., an IP-driven designer, developer and supplier of mobile scanning technologies, announced the signing of a supply agreement with the global information technology firm NCR.
The companies said the agreement will allow small businesses to deposit checks safely from their office or remote location using a light weight USB-powered mobile terminal developed by DCT.
This joint agreement integrates DCT's DocketPort (branded as NCR Personal Scanner) terminal with NCR's APTRA Passport family of remote deposit capture solutions. The resulting turn-key solution for the remote deposit of checks will help satisfy the growing number of small businesses that are demanding low-cost solutions.
Through remote deposit capture (RDC), Document Capture said businesses are able to capture digital images of checks they accept and transmit them directly to their financial institution for processing.
"NCR selected DCT's DocketPort terminal to expand our self-service suite and provide a RDC option for the predominately untapped opportunity within small and micro business," said Bill Nuti, Chairman and CEO of NCR. "At NCR we are always looking for new ways to shape the customer driven global 'self-service' trends of the future, and we believe this new product offering with DCT for a turnkey remote capture terminal represents a significant opportunity in the RDC market as well as other markets we serve like healthcare."
DCT and NCR said their combined offering provides a low cost self-serve transactional platform that has the opportunity to benefit from a recurring revenue model across multiple applications.
