IBM has won a contract from specialty chemical and materials company W R Grace & Co. to provide application management services. Datamonitor estimates the contract to be worth approximately $24m over three years.
Under the contract, IBM Global Business Services will create a technology platform that will enable Grace to update and standardize application delivery across its enterprise and adjust its resources to meet demands from emerging growth markets. The IBM application includes a Level One Help Desk offering support in multiple languages.
It will also provide Grace with an on-site IT presence that will work with Grace's IT professionals. Additionally, it will provide full application life cycle support and support user acceptance testing. Grace will also have access to its network of Global Delivery Centers.
Russell Doby, vice president at IBM Global Business Services, said: "Grace selected IBM due to our commitment and our ability to support their application environment worldwide. This implementation will help transform Grace to further integrate their IT processes and systems for continued success and growth."
The deal follows IBM's five-year $20m contract from the US Special Operations Command to provide a business information system.
