Excel Gold Mining Inc. Announces Prepares for a Surface Diamond Drilling Program at Montauban

EXCEL GOLD MINING INC. (TSX VENTURE:EGM)

Excel Gold Mining Inc. (herein referred to as "Excel" or the "Company") Announced Today that it has signed a contract agreement with MRB & Associates, a Val-d'Or based geological consulting group, working at arm's length with Excel, to initiate the planning phase of a 2000 meters surface diamond drilling program, at the Montauban Property.

MRB & Associates have a very good knowledge of the Montauban Camp since they were involved in previous exploration programs in the past. The initial phase of work consists of preparing a complete set of updated geological cross sections, of the northern portion of the Montauban property and to implement a strategic 2000 meter drilling program aimed at evaluating the surface pillar of the former base and precious metal mine. As part of the contract agreement, MRB will also supervise and provide full technical support related to the drilling campaign.

Phase 2 will consist of a full 3D geological compilation of the north, central and southern portions of the Montauban property. This compilation work will involve integrating all historical data (diamond drill holes and underground openings) into GEMS, the latest version of the Gemcom 3D software package. This 3D product will allow MRB to better evaluate the surface pillar portion of the former mine.

The Batiscan property claims consist in the mining rights relating to a property called "Montauban" which is composed of 140 mining titles covering 5,559.27 hectares. The Excel "Batiscan" territories are located in the Montauban mining camp, in the Chavigny and Seigneurie de Grondines-Ouest at 120 km west of the City of Quebec and 50 km north east of the City of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.
