Anita Borg Taps Thomson Reuters as Strategic Partner

The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology (ABI) announced that Thomson Reuters has become a Strategic Partner of ABI.

Thomson Reuters will support and participate in two major ABI programs in the coming months:

- The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women In Computing Conference will be held September 30-October 3, in Tucson, Arizona. GHC is a gathering of technical women in computing with participants from around the world. At GHC, Thomson Reuters, a GHC Silver Sponsor, will be hosting the keynote speaker breakfast, underwriting scholarships for university students to attend the conference, and sponsoring a resume clinic for the attendees.

- The Women of Vision Awards honor women making significant contributions to technology in three categories: Innovation, Leadership, and Social Impact. Thomson Reuters will be a Bronze sponsor for the event to be held on May 12, 2010.

"As the world's leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, we know that a diverse workforce is critical to driving our objectives and essential to innovation. We are pleased to partner with the Anita Borg Institute because they share our goal of recruiting, retaining and advancing women in technology," said Kelli Crane, senior vice president and CIO, Thomson Reuters. They recognize that a diverse work environment fuels creativity and innovation - critical to developing new products and services that meet their customers' needs. We are very proud to have Thomson Reuters join with us in supporting technical women."

"The global nature of the Anita Borg Institute aligns with that of Thomson Reuters.
