Wal-Mart Announced 1 Million New Products Online From Outside Sellers (WMT)

8/31/2009 - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT) announced Monday that it's Web site has added about 1 million new products through a new program that enables outside sellers to market products on their site. The Wal-Mart Marketplace includes products in various categories, including home, baby, apparel, toys, and sporting goods/sports memorabilia. CSN Stores, Pro Team, eBags, and some other retailers were selected to be a part of the Marketplace because of their large product assortments and solid customer service reputations, according to Wal-Mart. The site is set up so that orders can be place through Walmart.com but the orders will be managed and supported by the chosen retailer. The retailer will handle services such as shipping and handling, customer service, exchanges, and returns.
