Motricity, a supplier of mobile Internet services to mobile operators and content providers, announced it has received the 2009 Frost & Sullivan North American Market Leadership Award in the fields of Premium Mobile Content and Applications.

Motricity earned the award in recognition of its mCore Platform.

"After careful evaluation, Frost & Sullivan is pleased to present Motricity with the Market Leadership Award for its mCore Platform, one of the most deployed premium mobile content and applications platforms in the United States," said Frost & Sullivan Senior Analyst Vikrant Gandhi. "Frost & Sullivan recognizes and applauds the significant achievements of Motricity's mCore platform in the following categories: number of deployments, types and quality of deployment and revenues generated."

In presenting the award, Frost & Sullivan also said its firm belief that mCore delivers a combination of technical capabilities, scale, ability to simplify complexity and create personalized user experiences that will allow Motricity to continue to advance its market position. Motricity's mCore Platform delivered more than 11.5 billion page views in 2008 to mobile data providers, including eight of the top 10 carriers in the United States and three of the top 10 global carriers. The mCore Platform consists of its Portal, Storefront, Search, Managed Web and Gateway products.

"We are honored to receive the 2009 North American Market Leadership Award," said Ryan Wuerch, chairman and chief executive officer at Motricity. "With the ever-increasing demand for mobile content and applications, now more than ever, it is critical for carriers to improve connectivity with their subscribers and offer highly personalized user experiences. This award is a clear testament to the mCore Platform's ability to offer a high-value mobile user experience to hundreds of millions of subscribers that is cost-effective and carrier-grade."
