'Vodafone Romania adds 50,000 mobile apps to Wap portal'

Vodafone Romania has expanded the content offering on its Vodafone live! Wap portal. Mobile internet subscribers can now access over 50,000 free applications available from the GetJar catalogue. Vodafone customers can download applications from a wide range of categories, including Communities, Entertainment, Lifestyle, News & weather, Images, Shopping, Sports or Travel. The most popular applications include eBuddy, Facebook Mobile, Google Maps and Yahoo Mobile. The full catalogue can be accessed at the GetJar web page directly from the mobile phone's browser, via the Vodafone live! wap portal. Vodafone customers can also receive a direct link to this web site by sending a free SMS to a short number. Traffic data for navigation on the GetJar web page is included the Vodafone mobile data tariff plan with a monthly fee of EUR 4 (VAT not included) and which provides 500 MB for mobile internet traffic. Vodafone mobile data plan subscribers can also access mobile IM service such as Yahoo, MSN, GoogleTalk, ICQ, Facebook, MySpace, AIM, using the eBuddy application. Addtionally, mobile internet subscribers can now also access the AccuWeather WAP page, featuring weather forecast information for nearly 2.5 million locations with support for 38 languages.
