WASHINGTON, D.C. - Tomorrow, U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (D-NC) will tour Morganton furniture manufacturer EJ Victor to discuss the work she has been doing in Washington on behalf of North Carolina's small businesses. Hagan is a member of the Senate Small Business Committee.
EJ Victor employs 200 people in Burke County and contacted Hagan's office in June for assistance in expediting a refund from the IRS, which they needed to continue their business operations without laying off employees. Hagan's office was able to help expedite the request with the IRS, and EJ Victor received its money within two weeks, saving more than 30 jobs.
On Wednesday, Hagan will speak at the 75th Anniversary Rededication Ceremony for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Newfound Gap.
