Wireless Matrix Becomes Garmin Certified Partner

Wireless Matrix, a provider of software solutions to improve service fleet delivery metrics, announced that the company has been selected by Garmin, a designer, manufacturer and seller of GPS equipment, to become a Garmin Certified Partner.

To become a Garmin Certified Partner, Wireless Matrix underwent a rigorous evaluation by Garmin. This included verification of a working integration between Garmin's Personal Navigation Devices (PND) and Fleet Management Interface (FMI) and Wireless Matrix's FleetOutlook vehicle management application, as well as detailed explanation of FleetOutlook and its applicable markets.

As a result of this relationship, FleetOutlook's TechConnect communications module coupled with a Garmin PND enables turn-by-turn directions and real-time communication between the driver and the dispatcher.

"By working with Garmin, our customers benefit by extending the value of FleetOutlook to the driver," said Adam Wegel, senior director of product management at Wireless Matrix. "This connected solution reduces out-of-route miles and fuel usage, improves safety, and increases the number of work orders completed each day. It also improves customer response time and shortens service delivery windows."

"With Garmin's PND, dispatchers and drivers can connect easily so that the driver is more productive and safe on the road," said Roger Jollis, Garmin's director of OEM and mobile marketing. "We're pleased to work with Wireless Matrix and are confident that their customers will like the added value of Garmin's turn-by-turn voice prompted directions."

"The proven interoperability of FleetOutlook with Garmin's product offerings provides our customers another avenue of performance enhancement and operational savings," said J. Richard Carlson, Wireless Matrix president and CEO. "We're excited to work with a global leader like Garmin and extend enhanced value to service fleet operators employing Garmin solutions."
