Microsoft Granted Hold on Word Compliance in Patent Infringement Case (MSFT)

9/4/2009 - Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) will not have to immediately halt sales or alter its Word program as a result of losing a patent infringement case with I4i over custom XML technology, according to a Bloomberg report. The U.S. Court of Appeals granted a request to put the order on hold, and the two companies will present oral arguments at Microsoft's appeal September 23 in Washington. Shares of MSFT are up 0.58%.
