EchoStar Receives Additional Contempt Sanctions (SATS,TIVO)

9/5/2009-Friday, a Texas federal judge ruled against Dish Network's parent EchoStar (NASDAQ:SATS) regarding its five-year old case against TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO), ordering further contempt sanctions. A US District Court Judge imposed sanctions on EchoStar (NASDAQ:SATS) for approximately $200 million, for its continued violation of an injunction first ruled in '05. All together, EchoStar could be forced to pay over $400 million in sanctions to TiVo, if the appeal isn't successful.
