Harris Computer Systems acquires MediaSolution's Resource Management business

Harris Computer Systems, Inc. has acquired the Resource Management business of MediSolution, Ltd., a provider of enterprise resource planning and specialized blood bank software, solutions, and services, for approximately CAD30 million ($27.17 million). Both the companies are based in Canada.

Harris Computer Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian software and services provider Constellation Software, Inc., is a provider of financial management and customer information systems (CIS) software solutions.

As part of the transaction, Harris Computer Systems will assume all the customers and employees relating to the financial management, human capital management, and business intelligence solutions suites. In addition, Harris Computer Systems acquired the MediSolution trade name. Harris Computer Systems did not acquire the blood bank product business that will continue under Brookfield Asset Management.

Pursuant to the transaction, MediSolution will operate as a separate division of Harris Computer Systems from its existing facilities in Montreal, Laval, and Toronto.

Deal Rationale

The acquisition would allow Harris Computer Systems to continue its expansion within both the healthcare vertical and within the province of Quebec. The transaction also provides an enhanced market share and brand recognition in Quebec and an opportunity for growth within the rest of Canada. It also adds Resource Management Business' suite of products.
