Premier Healthcare Alliance Names Keith Figlioli as Head of Healthcare Informatics Division

The Premier healthcare alliance has named Keith Figlioli senior vice president of its Healthcare Informatics division dedicated to helping member hospitals improve quality of care while reducing costs.
"Our Healthcare Informatics division has been growing at a rapid pace, with tools and collaborative projects that are improving quality and safely reducing costs for hospital members of the Premier alliance," said Premier President and CEO Susan DeVore. "With his executive level experience, Keith's addition will help sustain and drive this thriving division."
With more than 15 years of healthcare business experience, Figlioli comes to Premier from Eclipsys Corp. in Boston, where he was senior vice president of Enterprise Solutions, responsible for all business strategy, product planning and business development for Eclipsys' solution portfolio, spanning the hospital inpatient and outpatient markets. While at Eclipsys he served as vice president and general manager of Revenue Cycle and Departmental Solutions, vice president of Operations and vice president of Corporate Development. Prior to joining Eclipsys, Figlioli was senior business development executive at a management consulting and systems integration company focusing on Fortune 1000 companies such as General Motors, Procter & Gamble and Continental Airlines.
As senior vice president of Premier's Healthcare Informatics division, Figlioli will drive collaboration with Premier alliance members on both national and regional levels through projects aimed at driving clinical, quality and operational improvement while safely reducing costs. He will also oversee the following national collaboratives, programs, products and services:
- QUEST: High Performing Hospitals program, designed to deliver the most reliable and effective patient care; safely reduce costs; save lives; improve patient safety through the prevention of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and harm; and increase patient satisfaction.
- CMS/Premier Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration (HQID), a value-based purchasing project that raised overall quality by an average of 17.2 percent over four years based on the delivery of more than 30 nationally standardized and widely accepted care measures to patients in five clinical areas.
- The South Carolina Healthcare Quality Trust, a voluntary hospital partnership aimed at eliminating preventable HAIs.
- SafetySurveillor, Premier's real-time application to prevent HAIs and optimize antibiotic use. More than 250 hospitals have chosen SafetySurveillor to enhance patient care, making it one of the most widely adopted infection control solutions during the past two years.
- Premier Research Services, which contributes to more than 30 scientific journals on quality improvement, including the areas of venous thromboembolism, cardiovascular disease and infectious diseases.
- Premier's LaborConnect labor management program, including OperationsAdvisor to improve financial and operational performance.
The Premier healthcare alliance is more than 2,200 U.S. hospitals and 63,000-plus other healthcare sites working together to improve healthcare quality and affordability.
