GameStreamer Taps BakBone for Real-Time Sync of Gaming Data

BakBone Software, a provider of Universal Data Management solutions, announced that GameStreamer has selected BakBone NetVault: Replicator for real-time replication of gaming data across three major data centers.

GameStreamer, a company focusing on the digital distribution and streaming solutions for games worldwide, has signed on to use NetVault: Replicator to enable real-time sync with their clients. With major customers across in industries such as social networks, retailers, e-tailers, media companies and schools, a massive back-to-back network is critical to maintain operations.

With offices in several major cities including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tampa, New York, Philadelphia, London, Paris and Moscow, GameStreamer required a system to manage their expanding data centers and networks around the world. BakBone NetVault: Replicator will provide GameStreamer with byte-level replication for their growing IT environment. The solution will manage multiple Web servers for online gaming at the Santa Clara, Calif.; Washington D.C.; and London locations. Each data center requires bi-directional real-time replication to the other two data centers. In addition, each location will have one content server for game content requiring on-demand replication. GameStreamer has hundreds of servers as well as an enterprise class network, and NetVault: Replicator will be running across 18 servers upon initial deployment with more to come as GameStreamer adds data centers.

"After I evaluated many different solutions from every large provider of replication software, I found that BakBone has the leading solution and is the only company that meets our technical needs. I am extremely impressed with the simplicity of the software's administration tools and its innovative capabilities in real-time synching. This will save us millions in dollars and months of time from forcing us into proprietary SAN hardware," said Timothy M. Roberts, CEO, GameStreamer.

"We are thrilled to help GameStreamer meet their growing business needs," said Jeff Drescher, vice president of Marketing, BakBone. "NetVault: Replicator allows GameStreamer to focus on expanding their business and providing seamless service to their customers without constantly managing their replication processes."
