Annuity and Life Re (Holdings), Ltd. (PINKSHEETS: ANNRF) held a special general meeting today for purposes of asking shareholders to approve a proposed amalgamation of the company with Pope Ltd. Over 77% of the shareholders voted and over 99% of them overwhelmingly approved of the amalgamation.

The Company will now work to put in place all remaining contingencies and close on the amalgamation in the near future. Once the transaction closes, shareholders will be contacted regarding payments for their shares.

Annuity and Life Re (Holdings), Ltd. provides annuity and life reinsurance to insurers through its wholly owned subsidiary, Annuity and Life Reassurance, Ltd.
