Network Equipment Technologies has announced the successful deployment of its VX series with Microsoft Office Communications Server at Quick France, part of a Belgian-French fast food restaurant chain.
Network Equipment Technologies (NET) claims that Quick's staff is now able to share skills and work collaboratively online, which has resulted in productivity gains as well as savings of 10% on telecommunications costs.
ABC Systemes, an NET partner, integrated Quick's existing telecommunications system with Microsoft Office Communications Server and the VX1200 to provide a unified communications (UC) solution that integrated into Quick France's IT infrastructure, connecting the communication and collaboration applications on the Microsoft Office platform. Quick expects to roll out the integrated UC solution in other locations globally.
Matthew Krueger, vice president of corporate marketing at NET, said: "Companies are finding that audio, video and web conferencing are actually easy tools to use and will not only save time and money, but also help the environment. We are seeing enterprise customers choosing to travel less and conference more. Tools like conferencing empower individuals to make the right choices about when to travel and how to connect with business partners."
