OSAKA OSE TO WAIVE BROKERS' COMMISSION FOR FOREX MARGIN TRADING

Osaka Securities Exchange Co. (TSE:8697) said Monday that it will waive brokers' commissions for its FX foreign currency margin trading service from Oct. 1 through the end March.

The bourse operator currently charges 20 yen per trading unit for the service.

Invast Securities Co. (TSE:8709) and other participating brokerages will likely pass on part of the savings to their customers by discounting their fees.

The foreign currency margin trading service, which began July, has been suffering from low levels of trading.

Osaka Securities Exchange hopes that waving commissions for six months will help revitalize trading and attract more brokers.
