CA Records Manager for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Receives the First Paired Certification on U.S. DoD 5015.2 v3 for FOIA and Classified Records

CA, Inc. (Nasdaq: CA) today announced that it is the only company to receive a paired certification with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 for the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) and Classified Records requirements of version 3 of the DoD 5015.2 Standard. Additionally, CA Records Manager is now certified with Office SharePoint Server 2007 on Chapter 2 - Mandatory Requirements, as well as the two optional chapters: Chapter 3 - Management of Classified Records, and Chapter 4 - Managing Records for the Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). With these new certifications CA solidifies its leadership position with the most certified pairings of any industry vendor. CA is also chapter 2, 3 and 4 certified with all three email clients: Microsoft Outlook 2007, GroupWise 7, and Lotus Notes 7.02.

Due to CA's long history of early and successful standards adoption, CA Records Manager was the first records management product to receive U.S. DoD 5015.2 v3 certification, was the first to receive paired certifications under that standard, and is now the first to receive a paired certification for additional chapters for FOIA and classified records. This new certification extends the value of the CA Records Manager and Office SharePoint Server 2007 solution for government agencies trying to solve the challenges associated with transparency, accountability and authenticity of their information.

Version 3 of the DoD Standard was the first to provide specific and detailed requirements for integrating security classified documents created in document management systems such as Office SharePoint Server 2007 with records management applications. The new addition of Chapter 3 to the Standard alleviates the lack of requirement for the management of classified records in the DoD certification process. Chapter 4 adds additional requirements for FOIA and the Privacy Act, which will also help organizations satisfy the newly enacted FOIA Guidelines to Favor Disclosure and Transparency issued by the Department of Justice on March 19, 2009 as part of the Open Government Act.

"The new certifications highlight CA's continued commitment to its infrastructure-independent approach to Information Governance," said Galina Datskovsky, CRM, senior vice president and general manager for Information Governance at CA. "Organizations today must provide transparency and authenticity for their information. The DoD standard offers the only certification process for software that assures the highest governance standards are indeed adhered to. We are pleased that our market-leading solution has been once again certified under the standard and that we can enable Office SharePoint Server 2007 to be certified in pairing with our product."

"Microsoft is proud to have been involved with CA in achieving this paired certification for DoD 5015," said Teresa Carlson, vice president, Microsoft Corporation. "CA and Microsoft have been working together to provide records management solutions to the public sector. Now customers can have the added security of being able to address important issues--including those related to FOIA and classified content--through the use of Office SharePoint Server 2007 and CA Records Manager, to provide immediate value to our common customers."

General Dynamics Information Technology, a large systems integrator, uses products such as CA Records Manager to provide enterprise record and document management services for 23 Department of Defense and federal civilian agencies, and 160 million records and documents. The software enables the secure and efficient management and governance of the customers' important data and information.

"General Dynamics Information Technology's Enterprise Content & Records Management organization enjoys a strong working relationship with CA," said John Montel, senior director. "This certification can help us meet our customers' needs."
