CA ARCserve Backup and CA XOsoft High Availability Chosen as Best Channel Products in Business Solutions Magazine Survey

CA (Nasdaq: CA) today announced that CA ARCserve Backup(R) and CA XOsoft(TM) High Availability were named among the Best Channel Products for Backup & Disaster Recovery and Data Protection in a survey of Value-Added Resellers (VARs) conducted by Business Solutions magazine.

Best Channel Product winners were chosen via a web-based survey of VAR subscribers who rated nominated vendor products in five categories including richness of features/functionality, product reliability, ease of integration, ease of upgrade and how easy the products are to service. Both CA ARCserve Backup and CA XOsoft High Availability received high grades in every category, and are among the small number of products that stood out from the rest of the pack.

To help ensure the statistical accuracy of the study, Business Solutions partnered with Penn State University to tally the results of close to 20,000 votes. Results were published in the Business Solutions Magazine special "Best Channel Products" issue in September.

"VARs want to know who fellow resellers believe are the best business partners and have the best products for them to sell," said Sue Breese, publisher for Business Solutions. "Earlier this year, our VAR subscribers recognized CA as a 'Best Storage Channel Vendor', so it's no surprise that the large number of VARs responding to our current survey ranked their products as stand-outs in data protection, back-up and disaster recovery."

One VAR responding to the survey commented that "ARCserve r12.5 including deduplication as standard is UNBEATABLE in the market! CA has got it right. Also, the integration with XOsoft is faultless."

Another VAR wrote that "When the hurricane went through Houston last year, our customers' XOsoft products worked like a charm."

CA was also recognized by CRN magazine as a one of the top 30 channel contenders for 2009 -- defined as vendors who are challenging entrenched market leaders and poised to become tomorrow's best sellers. In addition, CA announced last week that CA ARCserve Backup beat Symantec(TM) Backup Exec(TM) in a comparative review commissioned by CA and conducted by Network Testing Labs.
