OptiMedica names new vice president of regulatory, clinical and quality

US-based ophthalmic company OptiMedica has appointed Alan Marquardt to the newly created position of vice president, regulatory, clinical and quality.
Mr Marquardt joins OptiMedica following a 27 year career that included officer-level regulatory, clinical and quality affairs positions at companies including Sanarus Medical, Kyphon, Guidant, UroQuest Medical, EP Technologies/Boston Scientific, Schneider US Stent/Pfizer and Medtronic.
Mark Forchette, president and CEO of OptiMedica, said: "Alan joins OptiMedica at a very busy and exciting time, as we continue to expand the clinical science supporting our Pascal photocoagulator technology while also aggressively growing and diversifying our product portfolio.
