Globecomm Systems receives service contract from US Government Agency

Globecomm Systems, a provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services, has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Globecomm Services Maryland, has received a five-month services contract from a US Government Agency valued at $3.7 million.
Pursuant to the terms set forth in the contract, Globecomm will provide the customer with the following: internet delivery services to 1,500 US Government personnel deployed overseas. On-site personnel for engineering and maintenance of the 50 remote locations.
David Hershberg, chairman and CEO of Globecomm Systems, said: "This is an important contract that demonstrates Globecomm's ability to provide end-to-end turnkey solutions. Globecomm's service segment continues to provide the company with stability during the current economic downturn. We are excited to work closely with this customer and currently anticipate an increase in the size and scope of the contract over time."
