PhotoMedex Unveils New Formula for DNA Reparation

PhotoMedex, a provider of dermatology, clinical skincare and medical laser products, announced Neova DNA Repair Factor Nourishing Lotion, the newest addition to its Neova brand of skin and hair products.

In a release, the Company noted that this breakthrough formula is the first product on the market to combine the restorative powers of Neova's patented AHK Copper Peptide Complex with advanced DNA repair and enhanced moisturizing properties to effectively reverse the damage and regenerate skin.

Neova DNA Repair Factor Nourishing Lotion is a progressive regenerating skin lotion specifically formulated to repair DNA damage and reverse the premature aging effects of environmental damage to the skin, known as "photoaging," resulting from exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

"DNA damage is an inevitable result of repeated exposure to the sun's UV radiation, and if DNA damage is not repaired properly and quickly, the visible damage to the supporting structure of the skin appears as premature aging," explained Leonard M. Patt, Ph.D., Director, Research & Development. "DNA becomes damaged as the result of two processes in the skin, normal cellular metabolism and through repeated exposure to ultraviolet radiation. We developed DNA Repair Factor Nourishing Lotion to target the UV induced DNA damage so physicians can now give their patients the benefit of the most comprehensive and effective skin regenerating therapy possible."

"For more than 12 years we have delivered leading edge therapeutic skin care products, and we continue to set the bar higher with products like DNA Repair Factor Lotion," added Barbara Hayes, Director of Marketing, Aesthetic Products. "This is the first in a line of exciting new products we'll launch in this category, extending our leadership in this next-generation-market by delivering the most advanced, most effective clinical skin care products available."
