Dutch operator KPN has agreed to supply Sim cards and mobiel data
connections for personal navigation device maker Garmin in a multi-year
contract. The Garmin nuvi 1690 navigation system offers direct access
to the internet and real-time information on weather, traffic and
petrol prices. KPN supplies the data services under the M2M Corporate
brand, which gives business customers their own Sim management
services. Garmin will be able to insert and activate the Sim cards
itself, so customers can use the online services immediately after
purchase. In addition to worldwide coverage, KPN offers Garmin an
online management tool, run by the company Jasper Wireless.
