Blackbay, a provider of real-time mobile worker solutions, has said that its Delivery Connect real-time mobile worker software was successfully implemented by Australian Air Express to improve customer service by delivering a real-time mobility solution for its express freight services.
Australian Air Express (AaE) is a cargo airline owned by Qantas Airways and Australia Post. Blackbay's Delivery Connect real-time mobile worker software is running on Motorola MC70 rugged handheld computers which have been issued to AaE's drivers.
The solution has been rolled out to over 1,800 AaE drivers who are currently using the devices to manage and track all deliveries and pick-ups.
According to Blackbay, the solution provides AaE with electronic proof of delivery, electronic manifests and event and time stamping throughout the delivery and pick-up process, providing increased accuracy of information and real-time online visibility for its customers, reducing the need for customer queries.
David Williams, global sales director at Blackbay, said: "Enterprises are increasingly being challenged to reduce costs, increase employee efficiency and improve the level of service for their customers. Our collaborative relationship with AaE and our experience in delivering solutions to the transport and logistics market has enabled AaE to meet these increasing demands without driving up costs."
