Royal Philips Electronics signs memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bruker BioSpin

Royal Philips Electronics N.V. and Bruker BioSpin GmbH, a division of Bruker Corporation, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI) scanners, a new imaging technology, for the preclinical market.
Royal Philips is a Netherlands-based manufacturer of medical systems, consumer electronics, lighting products and semiconductors. Bruker BioSpin is a Germany-based manufacturer of analytical magnetic resonance instruments.
Under the terms of the MoU, Bruker BioSpin intends to develop and manufacture the preclinical MPI scanner at its facilities in Ettlingen, Germany. Both parties intend to co-market the resulting solution.
