'Vodafone UK offers 2 months paid charity work'

The Vodafone Foundation UK has launched a new two-month programme, part of its World of Difference UK programme. The two-month programme gives people the opportunity to take a paid placement with a UK charity of their choice. World of Difference UK is open to anyone over eighteen in the UK. Taking part in the programme involves finding the right charity to suit interests, skills and experience and completing an online application form at vodafone.co.uk/worldofdifference. The Vodafone Foundation will pay the successful applicant, the charity he chooses, a total of GBP 2,500 and the balance when tax and National Insurance has been paid. Vodafone UK will also donate a new mobile phone and prepaid credit to each of the 500 successful applicants. The deadline for applications for World of Difference UK is 3 November, with the first placements beginning in January 2010. The Vodafone Foundation's World of Difference International programme has confirmed eight UK winners. The winners (Nick Eastcott, Kathryn Becher, Lucy Buck, Max Griffiths, Naomi Pendle, Zoe Vowles, Rebecca Webb and Jain Reid) beat 1,000 applicants to work for the chosen charities overseas for twelve months, with salary and expenses paid up to GBP 45,000.
