MobiTech International Chooses Consonus Utah Data Center for Mobi iNet Colocation

Consonus Technologies today announced that MobiTech International has selected Consonus' newest data center - the Presidential Data Center in the Salt Lake City, Utah (http://www.consonus.com/locations/salt-lake-city-ut.aspx) area - for colocation of its mobile products and solutions infrastructure. The move means that MobiTech International will benefit from Consonus SAS70 Type II audited data center services (http://www.consonus.com/data-centers.aspx) including state-of-the-art colocation, disaster recovery capabilities, and 99.995% SLAs.

A national data center and managed IT services provider, Consonus serves its customers through three data center facilities in Utah and several other data centers across the country including Atlanta, Georgia, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Denver, Colorado, and Boston, Massachusetts.

"Our mobile search engine and mobile business directory applications require continual uptime and rigorous data security," said Ron Duggar, President of MobiTech International. "Consonus Technologies not only understands our needs, but has the credentials to satisfy them."

MobiTech International recently released the Mobi iNet mobile search application, challenging category leaders Google and Yahoo. Mobi iNet is available for download in Apple's App Store and Google's Android Market, with releases scheduled soon for BlackBerry App World, Palm Catalog, Nokia Ovi and Windows Mobile Marketplace.

"Smartphone innovation, speedier transmissions, and a friendly environment for third-party software development have triggered explosive mobile industry growth," stated Ron. "Our first goal is to solve the frustrating lack of mobile-optimize Web sites and content. Our "Go Mobile Today" suite of mobile content development tools coupled with our end user applications, including Mobi iNet and Mobipig -- a mobile business directory -- address that problem by converting internet content into mobile content and publishing that content using location-based services. After all, what's the point of investing time and money to mobile-optimize your Web site if no one can find it?"

Market research reveals that searching on a smartphone is quite different than on a computer. According to MobiTech, the two most distinctive differences are slower keyboarding, and the lack of mobile-friendly Web sites and content in results. Ron stated: "Existing search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo! have failed both users and companies in creating and locating Web sites optimized for mobile devices. Users will readily support applications, like Mobi iNet and Mobipig, which addresses these deficiencies."

"We are delighted to welcome another innovative company to our customer ranks," said Bob McCarthy, Consonus' Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Consonus' SAS70 Type II certified data centers offer the resilience, disaster recovery, and data protection that always-available applications like Mobi Tech International's need. We look forward to supporting their growth."
