Perspective to Host Fringe Event at Conservative Party Conference

Perspective, a leading authority on distributed learning and training monitoring, is hosting a fringe event at the conservative party conference regarding the best use of training management and monitoring systems in cutting the re-offending rates of criminals in the UK.

Learner management specialist Perspective has found that through the use of software in monitoring offenders, many former criminals receive much closer guidance and support during the pre and post-release phases of their sentence, providing them with the opportunity to reform and attend to the social issues that may have influenced their unlawful background.

The process is beneficial to both the individuals and society in general, as the past offenders can learn the vital skills that will help them find both work and shelter.

Jim Davis, CEO of Perspective, said: "We will be looking to make our points clear when it comes to how re-offending rates can be significantly reduced through the introduction of monitoring and management solutions.

"Many young offenders today have learnt their lesson and are simply looking for an opportunity to reform, and the software that can be utilised to help achieve this has a significant impact in aiding them. It is a hugely successful method of keeping them from re-offending."

Within Project Equal Engage, a regional trial implemented across the Tri Region area, Perspective's software was designed to efficiently link all elements, parties and individuals involved in rehabilitating offenders, containing both a historic profile and a full audit trail of any event that occurred pre and post-release. The trial saw an immediate reduction of 80% in re-offend rates.

Jim continued: "The monitoring and management of offenders who have previously broken the law is of huge importance.

"The software can identify any issues that could potentially result in another offence, for example an extended period of unemployment or the lack of a permanent address, helping these issues to be dealt with swiftly. In the past these kinds of issues were difficult to monitor, and early warning signs were sometimes missed."

As well as providing the software used in offender rehabilitation, Perspective is also supporter of the Governments 14-19 Agenda, where its systems helping to facilitate the implementation of the 14-19 Diploma in schools and colleges all over the UK.
