Following the heel of overseas mobile phone makers, such as Nokia, Samsung, and Motorola, Yulong Computer Telecommunication Scientific (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. announced on September 29, 2009 that it joined in the Near Field Communication (NFC) Forum, a non-profit industry association that advances the use of the NFC technology.
The company will unveil its first dual-module NFC mobile phone at the end of this year, forecasted an executive for Yulong, adding that the company has joined hands with telecom carriers, banks, and bus companies on NFC mobile phone testing and commercial use.
Similar with the development of the domestic 3G industry, the NFC technology still needs supports from telecom carriers and terminal manufacturers, noted industry analysts.
Currently, the NFC technology mainly supports three applications. Global mobile payment will reach USD 600 billion in 2013, according to a report by UK-based Juniper Research. The market focuses on digital products at the moment.
