Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates Announces Live Public Webcast of Upcoming Conference Call

Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSEA) today announced that the company plans to report its fiscal 2009 fourth quarter results after the market closes on Thursday, October 29, 2009.

A conference call to review the fourth quarter results and outlook for the first quarter of fiscal 2010 is scheduled to follow at 5:30 PM Eastern time that day.

A live webcast of the conference call will be publicly available on Varian Semiconductor's website at www.vsea.com. In addition to the live webcast, replays will be available to the public on Varian Semiconductor's website for two weeks.
