General Dynamics Information Technology has won a five-year $86.2m contract from the US Marine Corps to provide field-level sustainment services and technical support for equipment and networks for its critical Combat Operations Center (COC) program.
The company said COCs comprises a network of workstations and servers supporting standard Tactical Data Systems and other mission-critical software and act as the focal point of decision-making for Marine Corps commanders and their staff. Work will be performed in North Carolina, California, Hawaii, Japan and Southwest Asia.
Tom Kirchmaier, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology's Intelligence Solutions Division, said: "General Dynamics is dedicated to providing the US Marine Corps and other COC stakeholders with functional COCs for warfighting effectiveness and readiness whenever and wherever they fight. We understand the importance of sustaining field communications."
In June General Dynamics' C4 Systems subsidiary won a $21m contract to provide internet-like capabilities for the COC program.
