Children's Hospitals Leveraging Eclipsys for Integrated Performance Management

Eclipsys Corp. said that pediatric hospitals are emerging as a key client base for its Sunrise EPSi integrated suite of business performance management solutions.

In a release, the Company noted that in face of declining reimbursements, both acute and specialty care organizations are seeking the decision support solution as an effective means to become more efficient and improve productivity without sacrificing quality.

"Pediatric hospitals tend to have a large Medicaid payer mix, making them exceptionally vulnerable to today's declining reimbursement environment," said Tim Rutledge, Eclipsys' senior vice president of Enterprise Performance Management. In the case of The Children's Hospital (Aurora, CO), ranked for more than a decade as one of the best children's hospitals in the nation, Eclipsys said that the organization selected the entire Sunrise EPSi integrated suite of business performance solutions to replace its disparate business intelligence tools and Excel spreadsheets.
