Acme Packet, a provider of session border control solutions, has announced that Chief Telecom, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Chunghwa Telecom, has deployed the Acme Packet Net-Net session border controllers to offer advanced, IP multimedia subsystem based enterprise VoIP services throughout Taiwan.
Chief Telecom has deployed Acme Packet's Net-Net session border controllers (SBCs) for their IP multimedia subsystem (IMS)-based, enterprise solution, which includes SIP trunking, IP-Centrex, audio conferencing, video telephony, voice mail and messaging services. Acme Packet's SBCs also secure and connect Chief Telecom's Microsoft MSN VoIP service for consumers with its international peering network.
The Acme Packet Net-Net SBCs session admission control functions allow Chief Telecom to provide VoIP and interactive multimedia services with assured SLAs for its business customers and service provider peering partners.
Seamus Hourihan, vice president of product management and marketing for Acme Packet, said: "Chief Telecom is delivering innovative, telecommunication services to over 20 million customers in Taiwan, including business-critical applications and services to complex enterprise environments. Acme Packet's SBCs play a pivotal role in helping solve the challenges that Chief Telecom faces in delivering high-quality, IMS-based, IP communication services to both its enterprise and residential customers."
